Join us for a late-summer orchard meeting. We will start with a tour through J.L. Knight and Son's new storage and packing area, and owner Jeremy Knight will discuss his experience with Hazel 1-MCP sachets.  Cornell researchers and extension specialists will then give talks on management tasks to be mindful of late in the season as we head into harvest.

Agronomic Weed Management and Cover Crop Field Session

This field meeting will include talks on emerging problem weed species, dealing with changing herbicide efficacy and the impact of erratic weather, managing spray water to improve herbicide efficacy, and soil health practices. See a demo of calibrating and using a dual seed box drill to establish a cover crop. Learn about Erie County Soil and Water's soil health equipment lending program. We'll have field demos of various cover crops too! DEC credits in CORE, 1a, 10, 21 and 23.

Sweet Corn and Pumpkin IPM Twilight Meeting

Date change! Join us for a twilight meeting at Dyer Farms in Plattsburgh. We'll tour Dyer Farms' vegetable fields, view an experimental laser scarecrow set up to deter birds, discuss insect, disease, and weed scouting and management recommendations for sweet corn and pumpkins, and cover crops for vegetable rotations.
