This meeting is our annual winter educational event for Finger Lakes Produce Auction growers. This year we will focus on farm food safety clarifications, soil health, pepper pests, strawberries, and control of tomato and vine crop diseases through use of biopesticides. 2.5 DEC recertification credits will be available in category 23, and 0.5 credits in category 22.

This course will educate growers on disease and pest management, varieties and marketing issues in vegetables and small fruit. Topics such as disease resistant varieties, pest/disease, cultural management and appropriate spray options. 1.5 DEC recertification credits will be offered.

The 2020 Empire State Producers Expo combines the major fruit and vegetable associations of New York State in order to provide a comprehensive trade show and educational conference for New York producers, as well as the surrounding states and Eastern Canada.

A jam-packed schedule of educational topics for regional growers, this meeting features dynamic sessions and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Topics will be relevant for vegetable, berry, field crops, and greenhouse/flower, and organic growers. Focus areas in 2020 include disease management and enhancing local markets. Pesticide credits available in many NY and PA categories, CEUs requested.

At this meeting co-hosted by Timac Agro USA and Cornell Cooperative Extension, representatives from IVA Sprayers, BASF, Timac Agro USA, and Gowan will share information about their product offerings and how to use them on specialty crops. Dr. Chris Smart from Cornell will discuss sanitation and prevention techniques for greenhouse and transplant handling to minimize bacterial diseases in peppers and tomatoes. Dr. Lynn Sosnokie, Weed Scientist for Cornell, will lead a focus group to identify grower research priorities. Additionally, Sosnoskie will provide insights on how to recognize herbicide resistance and adjust weed management strategies appropriately. FREE! DEC credits will be available.
